A perfect “finish” for 2019

By News No Comments
As you know, the acoustic panels and wood panelling we manufacture at Spigogroup and supply to our clients consist of two different parts: a thick base that offers solidity and resistance, and a fine layer of finish that provides warmth and beauty. If we compare the year that is ending now with an acoustic panel we can find certain parallels. And, if we consider the whole year as the solid base that supports our day to day, then the Holiday Season could be that finish that decorates the last stretch of the year, embellishing it and giving it a final layer of love, magic and hope. Therefore, as we always do on these dates, at Spigogroup we are going to take a break in our work routine to enjoy the perfect “finish” for 2019. We will stop with dozens of national and international projects on the list of objectives met, and many others to conclude over the next year. Machines, telephones and delivery trucks will see their frantic activity interrupted, leaving room for conversations, laughter, meals with family and friends, gifts, details and moments of affection and complicity. At Spigogroup, we also wish you a perfect “finish” for the year that leaves us and a solid start for 2020, full of projects to share together. The role of wood in green offices

By Acoustics, Architecture, Construction, Decoration, Inspiration, News No Comments
Green offices are here to stay. And this is simply because we can no longer conceive an office design that is not environmentally friendly. And that's fine. This new way of understanding architecture and interior design, in perfect communion with nature, has an essential material, wood. Perhaps because a tree branch was probably the first natural resource that man harnessed for his own benefit, or because it brings us closer to the illusion that we still live in the shelter of forests and trees, the fact is that wood is one of the main eco-friendly materials used in today’s green offices. In terms of sustainability, what does wood contribute to the design of an office? First of all, wood can be the most sustainable material, provided you choose PEFC or FSC certified wood (like Spigogroup does in all its products) that guarantees it comes from sustainably managed forests. In addition, it is the material with the most possibilities of recycling or reuse in any format in which it is presented: wood panels, wood slats or even more complex elements such as pallets. The wood used in inner linings helps the thermal and acoustic insulation of a room, reducing the use of other less ecological materials. In addition, it makes use of the natural luminosity of an office. The use of a wood panelling in light hues, or wood slats to create light and shadow effects enhances the aspect of a room while helping cut down the energy bill.       If you liked this post about green offices, you may also be interested in:   - New trends in office design: Open Space, better acoustics and more wood - Eight frequently asked questions about acoustic solutions for offices - Why is using wood in your project good for the environment? - PEFC or FSC wood panelling What’s that?
