Cabins and lockers for secondary schools in the new Práxedes Mateo Sagasta school in Logroño

By Architecture, Construction, Decoration, News, Spigogroup wood projects No Comments

Spigocompac is Spigogroup's line of cabins and lockers for schools, universities, gyms, hospitals and companies, and it was also chosen for the comprehensive refurbishment and renovation project of the Práxedes Mateo Sagasta Secondary School in Logroño. The products manufactured by Spigogroup under the Spigocompac brand are manufactured with phenolic board, a high pressure laminate consisting with several layers of kraft paper pressed at high temperatures to form a laminate, with a thickness of 12 mm in the case of Spigocompac. This is the material of choice when manufacturing sports furniture because of its particularly robust performance against daily use, scratches and impact, in facilities that, like this school, receive hundreds of people every day. It also offers antibacterial properties, is very easy to clean and maintain, and stands out for its resistance to moisture and fire. In the new Práxedes Mateo Sagasta school we designed and manufactured different components with phenolic panel. 6 mm phenolic compact cladding was installed on this occasion in white formica F-1040 and F-6930, some even combining both references, F-1040 on interior faces and F-6930 on exterior faces. We manufacture and install phenolic cabins with compact formica F7923, phenolic lockers with 19 and 16 mm white melamine with perforated backs and doors in compact F-6930 of 12 mm, engraved with a correlative number for identification. The result is the perfect combination of looks, usability and durability.             If you liked this post about lockers for secondary schools, you may also be interested in:     - 3 examples of interior wood cladding for health centres or hospitals - Spigogroup launches new wood slat cladding with PET felt insulation - Interior wood cladding at the new Práxedes Mateo Sagasta Secondary School in Logroño - Acoustic conditioning of classrooms: calculation of reverberation time and recommendations

3 examples of interior wood cladding for health centres or hospitals

We also manufacture interior wood cladding for health centres or hospitals. Health care facilities are the essence of buildings designed to care for people, so materials such as wood are used in their design and construction to provide a benefit for patients and health care workers. Wood acoustic panels enable the acoustic conditioning of rooms, consulting rooms and waiting rooms. In addition, wood connects us with the nature it represents and conveys serenity, stillness and warmth, some of the sensations that are most beneficial to patient care. These features, plus the quality of the materials installed, gave Spigogroup the opportunity to participate in the construction or renovation of these three health care buildings:   For the Lezkairu Health Centre in Navarre, we manufactured 920 m² of 1200×600 cm Spigoacustic 42-32-64 acoustic panels, with wood effect varnished oak veneered finish on 16 mm fireproof MDF Bs1,d0, with T15 half-hidden profile mounting system, and 560 m² of 600×600 cm Spigoacustic 42-NO-32, acoustic tiles, with white melamine finish on 16 mm fireproof MDF Bs1,d0, with T15 half-hidden profile mounting system.         Acoustic panels are also used for meeting rooms, consulting rooms and common areas in hospitals. At the 12 de Octubre Hospital in Madrid, we supplied wood acoustic panels for their Cineteca Disney auditorium. More specifically, we manufactured and shipped Spigoacustic model 42-16-32 with a melamine cherry finish. The panels are 2,400 x 300 mm and employ a standard 16 mm MDF panel with a machined tongue & groove perimeter.       For the Ansoáin Health Centre in Navarre, on the other hand, we opted for the white lacquered finish of the Spigoacustic 28-32-32 acoustic panel model.         If you liked this post about interior wood cladding for health centres or hospitals, you may also be interested in:   - Acoustic panels for press rooms: press room at the Ministry of Justice in Madrid - Spigogroup launches new wood slat cladding with PET felt insulation - Interior wood cladding at the new Práxedes Mateo Sagasta Secondary School in Logroño - Acoustic conditioning of classrooms: calculation of reverberation time and recommendations

Acoustic panels for press rooms: press room at the Ministry of Justice in Madrid

By Acoustics, Architecture, Construction, Decoration, News, Spigogroup wood projects No Comments

We manufacture acoustic panels for press rooms, classrooms and any type of room where excellent acoustics are required. These acoustic panels allow the acoustic conditioning of this type of rooms, correcting potential reverberation issues. Reverberation is a mismatch in the time that a sound remains in the environment compared to ideal for correctly hearing and understanding a message. Technically, reverberation time is defined as the time it takes for a sound to fall by 60 dB after the source of the sound emission stops. The mismatch between the time when the sound should dissipate and when it actually does may worsen hearing due to echoes and sound trails that hinder the intelligibility of lectures, speeches and conversations. This is unacceptable in places specifically designed for corporate communication, such as a press rooms. That is why we were asked to manufacture wood acoustic panels for the press room of the Ministry of Justice in Madrid in 2022. 150 m² of Spigoacustic 42-32-32 16 mm, 2400 x 300 cm panels were used. They were finished in stainless steel and oak melamine with Bs1-d0 fire retardant MDF cores, MH machined on all four sides. We also supplied 2440 x 600 cm smooth boards with the same stainless steel and oak finishes and fire retardant MDF core. For the ceilings, we produced 90 m² of interior cladding using Spigoline Grid 5-15-70-55 wood slats, finished in obeche wood and tinted with fire retardant varnish, using black rods.     If you liked this post about acoustic panels for press rooms, you may also be interested in:   - Technical doors for schools – Instituto Práxedes Mateo Sagasta in Logroño - Interior wood cladding at the new Práxedes Mateo Sagasta Secondary School in Logroño - Acoustic panels for Lezkairu Health Centre - The benefits of using wood panels in Passivhaus-certified projects
