Slats and decorative wood slats cladding at the Cachan university restaurant

By Architecture, Decoration, Proyectos en Madera Spigogroup, Spigogroup wood projects

The use of slats and decorative wood slats cladding for university restaurants is the logical consequence of the formidable spread of this type of wood cladding across all types of premises. The reason for its success is clear: slats and decorative wood slats cladding is ideal for its warm, welcoming look, creating comfortable settings for students and teachers. In addition, wood adds a natural touch that helps to reduce stress and enhance the experience of patrons enjoying their meals, usually at a time of relaxation. It is also a durable and versatile material, which can be combined with different decorative styles. One only has to look at the pictures of this project to understand this. This is the decorative wood slats and slat cladding installed in the dining room of the new Cachan university restaurant, located two kilometres outside Paris. The solution chosen for this project was Spigoline Grid model 4-30-70-55 wood slats cladding made of PSM R12354 stained solid ayous wood, consisting of panels assembled with four 30×70 mm section slats, spaced 55 mm apart. The project was developed by Crous de Créteil, a French public entity that provides services for students, including scholarships, housing, catering, social assistance, campus life, student employment, etc. The architecture was carried out by the architecture and urban planning studio Agence Engasser & Associés. The works were carried out by Bouygues Bâtiment and the acoustics were handled by Altia Acoustique.   . . Wood panelling and the perception of luxury

By Decoración, Decoration, Inspiración, Inspiration, Spigogroup wood projects

Wood panelling and the perception of luxury are closely linked. Wood has always been a symbol of elegance and sophistication in interior decoration. Its use transcends cultures and trends, providing warmth and a touch of discreet luxury. This is partly because wood, with its unique texture and natural patterns, connects spaces with nature, providing a welcoming and refined atmosphere that rarely goes out of style. Incorporating wood into the decoration of a room, whether in furniture, wall coverings or decorative wood panels, increases the perception of quality and exclusivity. Traditional noble woods such as walnut, oak or ebony are often associated with luxury due to their unrivalled durability, strength and beauty. Others, such as maple, pear, beech, cherry or ayous, have also gained great popularity in recent years and are increasingly used due to their regenerative capacity and lightness.     If we talk about decorative wood slats or solid wood slats, the feeling of elegance and exclusivity that they convey is even clearer. Sergio Oliván, general manager of Spigo believes that “their presence on walls or ceilings transforms spaces, adding texture and depth while transmitting warmth and naturalness. Being made of solid wood, they offer a robust and high-quality appearance, generating an exclusive and refined environment that captivates and lasts.”       For wood cladding with panels, solid wood is ideal, but there is the option, more economical and with a very similar aesthetic result, of using panels made up of bases of cheaper materials, such as MDF, to which a melamine or varnished natural wood finish is added. Wood lath and slat cladding in new coworking spaces: the case of Coworking Hiptown in Paris

By Architecture, Arquitectura, Decoración, Decoration, Proyectos en Madera Spigogroup, Spigogroup wood projects

Solid wood lath and slat cladding, such as that produced by Spigogroup for its Spigoline and Spigoplank brands, is a popular and successful choice for modern coworking spaces. This natural material contributes warmth, sophistication and an organic touch; features that are increasingly sought in collaborative work environments. Solid wood has a unique ability to convey a sense of proximity and comfort; ideal for offices where a relaxed yet professional atmosphere is desired. In addition, the wood used in Spigoplank decorative wood panels and Spigoline wood slats is a sustainable material, with PEFC and FSC certificates guaranteeing that it comes from sustainably managed forests. This reinforces values such as environmental responsibility and quality, which are particularly appreciated in modern coworking spaces looking to be attractive, functional and aligned with ecological principles. A good example is one of the latest projects in which our Spigoplank and Spigoline brands have been jointly involved. This is Coworking Hiptown, designed by the architectural studio OVGA in the centre of Paris, where they were installed:   Spigoplank 01 decorative wood panels in solid oak, used on the walls of some common areas such as the lift area. The model is very quick and easy to install, with a three-dimensional longitudinal surface in the form of 10-mm-thick wood slats and 10 mm spacing between slats.       Spigoline Grid 6-30-35-30 wood slat cladding in PSM R12354 stain, used in the ceilings of the main working areas. Fully assembled panel with 6 parallel solid ayous wood slats, each slat section 30×35 mm, spaced at 30 mm, joined with beech rods 12 mm diameter, panel open area 48,00 % or greater, panel mass per sqm 7,03 kg/m² or lower”.                 If you liked this post about wood lath and slat cladding, you may also be interested in:   – Acoustic conditioning of homes and the hearing impaired – Performance of flame retardant wood panel cladding when exposed to fire – What are wood removable ceilings? – What are accessible wood ceilings?

By Decoración, Decoration, Proyectos en Madera Spigogroup, Spigogroup wood projects

Good acoustic conditioning is paramount where training and dissemination activities are carried out and where products or services are sold. In other words, wherever an act of communication is going to take place where it is essential that the message reaches the receiver in optimum condition. And if this space must also additionally convey an aesthetic feeling of elegance, warmth and hospitality to visitors, while defending the quality and distinction of the brand and of the products offered inside, then we are looking at a wood acoustic cladding project like the one we bring to this blog today. This is the new commercial exhibition, tasting, wine tasting and sales area, “El Muelle de Carga”, in the renowned Bodegas Franco-Españolas winery in Logroño.” For this project, led by the riojan studio Arquitelia, Spigo manufactured and installed 400 m² of Spigoacustic 28-16-16 wood acoustic cladding for walls and ceilings with an oak melamine finish. We also manufacture FR doors finished in black lacquered FORMICA F2253 and flush white lacquered pivoting doors with black edge veneered imitation plywood. We also provided other made-to-measure wood elements, including a solid natural oak staircase mounted on a metal structure, a black melamine wine cellar unit, benches with wood-effect varnished walnut veneer, white lacquered and black lacquered skirting boards, as well as a counter for the entrance, display and bar area in natural varnished oak, and a panelled ceiling for the reception area in walnut melamine.                                 If you liked this post about wood acoustic cladding, you may also be interested in:   – Request a quotation for acoustic panels and wood panelling – Interior design of hotels: the importance of acoustics in hotel reception areas – The importance of meeting lead times for interior design projects – Wood slat acoustic panels for increased acoustic comfort
