Cladding with acoustic and decorative wood slats for the new Montepino offices

By Acoustics, Acústica, Architecture, Arquitectura, Construcción, Construction, Decoración, Decoration

Today we will review another new example of cladding with decorative wood slats for offices, both for acoustic conditioning and aesthetic reasons. A few years ago, Montepino, one of the largest owners, promoters and operators of logistics real estate in Spain, carried out a comprehensive renovation of the facilities at its headquarters in Zaragoza. Committed to the well-being of both clients and employees, they did not hesitate to take advantage of the opportunity to install solid wood lath cladding for optimal acoustic conditioning of main work areas. The Spigoline cladding system based on decorative wood slats offered the solutions they needed:   25 m² of Spigoline GRID system wood slat cladding, models 4-30-70-55 and 4-30-35-55 with white tinted finish and standard varnish. Fully assembled panel with 4 parallel solid ayous wood slats, each slat section 30x35 mm, spaced at 55 mm, joined with beech rods 12 mm diameter, panel open area 62,12 % or greater, panel mass per sqm 5,04 kg/m² or lower”   30 m² of Spigoline SOLID system wood slat cladding, model R-8_20_70_55 with PSM R12349 finish. This sound-absorbent, wood slat ceiling, forms grilles of solid Ayous wood laths with a cross-section of 20x50 mm and 70 mm high, placed parallel to each other, with a 55 mm gap between laths, which are nailed to the black-painted top board.     For the entrance area, we also manufactured loose Ayous wood laths with a 30x35 m section, tinted and varnished according to the project requirements.                 If you liked this post about decorative wood slats for offices, you may also be interested in: . - Acoustic panels for exhibition halls, museums and galleries - How wood panels help to achieve VERDE certification - Flexible wood slat cladding: so acoustics does not limit creativity - 3 examples of interior wood cladding for health centres or hospitals

Spigogroup launches new wood slat cladding with PET felt insulation

By Acoustics, Architecture, Construction, Decoration, News No Comments

Spigogroup strengthens Spigoline's catalogue offering with the launch of the PET System, a new type of wood slat cladding with PET felt insulation. The new SPIGOLINE PET is an acoustic panel with a modern and timeless design that combines solid natural obeche wood slats arranged in parallel with an eco-friendly insulating panel with high thermal and acoustic performance, made of 80% recycled polyester fibres, 100% recyclable and with a low carbon footprint. Its straight lines with solid obeche wood in combination with the felt back give it a great acoustic performance, notably improving absorption as well as providing thermal insulation. The new SPIGOLINE PET wood slat cladding combines sustainability, aesthetic appeal and easy installation, making it the ideal interior cladding for ceilings and walls. It is very easy, quick and clean to assemble, as the low density obeche wood is very easy to handle and the PET felt can be easily cut with a normal saw, circular saw or jigsaw. In addition, the black felt is flexible, which allows the cladding to adapt easily to walls and curved areas, thus allowing it to participate in projects with more original and avant-garde designs. The PET System comes with 4 different models (6-70-15-30, 10-30-35-30, 12-35-15-15 y 12-35-30-15) and, together with the 36 GRID system models, 12 ACOUSTIC system models and 22 LINEAR system models, they complete the extensive catalogue of Spigoline's wide range of interior cladding solid wood slats.         If you liked this post about wood slat cladding, you may also be interested in:     - How to install solid wood slats on walls - Acoustic conditioning of classrooms: calculation of reverberation time and recommendations - What are micro-perforated acoustic panels? How to install solid wood slats on walls

By Acoustics, Architecture, Construction, Decoration, News No Comments

Installing solid wood slats on walls is not complicated if you opt for quality wood slats with a tried-and-tested fastening system adapted to the characteristics of the material. Minimalist decoration with wood has conquered the hearts of decorators and interior designers and we are discovering more and more designs that include walls, or parts of them, clad with solid wood slats. All agree that, aesthetically, the effect of warmth, order and spaciousness offered by this type of wall cladding is unequalled. However, proper installation is crucial in ensuring work safety and also a final visual result with the straightness, parallelism and symmetry that they contribute to the design of a space. At Spigoline we have three types of interior cladding employing wood slats, each with its own wall installation system:   GRID System: It is made up of slats of solid Wood (square or rectangular sections) positioned parallel to each other, joined together by wooden rods (12 mm diameter). The GRID System is installed on the wall using a fast and effective anchoring system based on positioning os Spigoline grills through U clips on wooden spacer estructure.   ACOUSTIC System: It is made up of superior acoustic panel with ovoid or circular holes and solid wood slats (square or rectangular section) positioned parallel to each other and perpendicular to this support. The ACOUSTIC System is installed on the wall using an assembly system.   LINEAL System: It is made up of solid wood beams (square or rectangular cross-section) laid parallel to one another and held together by wooden struts. They are screwed onto wood battens which are always perpendicular to the slats.       If you have any questions, please contact Spigogroup's technical department: comercial@spigogroup.com           If you liked this post about install solid wood slats on walls, you may also be interested in:   - The 7 advantages of using ayous wood interior cladding in your projects - Designer ceilings with solid wood slats at Leyre Monastery (Part 1) - 3 examples of the use of wood slat cladding in offices - Spigogroup’s Spigoline brand A+ wood slat cladding

3 Examples of solid wood slats in winery decoration

By Acoustics, Architecture, Construction, Decoration, News, Spigogroup wood projects No Comments

The great temples of wine have made a firm commitment to the decoration of their great halls and solid wood slats are always involved, to a greater or lesser extent, in refurbishing projects. The first thing that comes to mind when we think of a winery is the perfect alignment of wood barrels in a large room. The use of aligned wood slats reproduces this scene on ceilings and walls, extending the perception of symmetrical order and warmth with solid wood slat cladding. Here are 3 examples:     Zinio Bodegas Patrocinio This is a wood decoration project in which we had the pleasure of participating in 2019 at Zinio Bodegas / Bodegas Patrocinio, the Uruñuela wine cooperative, in the heart of the Rioja wine region. The cladding chosen for ceilings and walls are Spigoline model 5-15-70-55 wood slats.         Bodegas Marqués de Vargas The majestic dimensions of the malolactic hall of Bodegas Marqués de Vargas required Spigoline wood slats of special dimensions. Finally, we manufactured and installed 2,000 linear metres of special treated and varnished wood slats, 40 mm thick, 300 mm wide and in varied lengths, which were placed on horizontal and vertical surfaces to achieve the final result that can be seen in the following photos. Many of the slats were also machined to include LEDs. Another aspect to highlight in this wood slats for wineries project carried out at Marqués de Vargas is that they were manufactured according to TCA contamination prevention protocols, which required prior certification studies of the materials used. .           Bodegas Portia These wineries in Ribera del Duero are the work of the renowned architect, Norman Foster and his architecture and interior design team, Foster + Partners. We were in charge of the manufacture of different works in solid oak wood for different points in the three floors of the 12,500 m² premises. Among them, is the installation of beautiful solid oak wood slat cladding on the ceilings of common areas, dining rooms and meeting rooms.         If you liked this post about wood slats in winery decoration, you may also be interested in:   - Acoustic ceilings with wood slats: the case of Cajasiete Tenerife - Sizes for solid wood slats used in ceiling and wall cladding - Decorative false ceiling with wood slats: 3 options and installation methods - Acoustic wood slats: sizes and models
