Cladding with acoustic and decorative wood slats for the new Montepino offices

By Acoustics, Acústica, Architecture, Arquitectura, Construcción, Construction, Decoración, Decoration

Today we will review another new example of cladding with decorative wood slats for offices, both for acoustic conditioning and aesthetic reasons. A few years ago, Montepino, one of the largest owners, promoters and operators of logistics real estate in Spain, carried out a comprehensive renovation of the facilities at its headquarters in Zaragoza. Committed to the well-being of both clients and employees, they did not hesitate to take advantage of the opportunity to install solid wood lath cladding for optimal acoustic conditioning of main work areas. The Spigoline cladding system based on decorative wood slats offered the solutions they needed:   25 m² of Spigoline GRID system wood slat cladding, models 4-30-70-55 and 4-30-35-55 with white tinted finish and standard varnish. Fully assembled panel with 4 parallel solid ayous wood slats, each slat section 30x35 mm, spaced at 55 mm, joined with beech rods 12 mm diameter, panel open area 62,12 % or greater, panel mass per sqm 5,04 kg/m² or lower”   30 m² of Spigoline SOLID system wood slat cladding, model R-8_20_70_55 with PSM R12349 finish. This sound-absorbent, wood slat ceiling, forms grilles of solid Ayous wood laths with a cross-section of 20x50 mm and 70 mm high, placed parallel to each other, with a 55 mm gap between laths, which are nailed to the black-painted top board.     For the entrance area, we also manufactured loose Ayous wood laths with a 30x35 m section, tinted and varnished according to the project requirements.                 If you liked this post about decorative wood slats for offices, you may also be interested in: . - Acoustic panels for exhibition halls, museums and galleries - How wood panels help to achieve VERDE certification - Flexible wood slat cladding: so acoustics does not limit creativity - 3 examples of interior wood cladding for health centres or hospitals

Spigoline Linear System decorative wood slats

By Acoustics, Architecture, Construction, Decoration

Spigoline is the Spigogroup brand of solid wood slat cladding or decorative wood slats. It features four different product systems: the GRID system, the SOLID system, the LINEAR system and the PET system. Today we will to get to know the Linear system a little better. Spigoline’s decorative wood laths system, called Linear System, consists of rectangular ayous wood slats placed in parallel and joined together at one end by means of a black painted ayous wood crossbeam, leaving the entire width of the slat free. The installation of the wood slats is similar both on ceilings and on walls: They are either mounted with T-15 profiles or screwed onto wood battens which are always perpendicular to the slats. The Linear System allows you to install wood slats both vertically and horizontally. This is precisely the first piece of information provided by the designation of each of the models, which begins with the letter H when they are placed horizontally (4 models) and V if they are placed vertically (18 models). In all designations, the slat width in millimetres and the slat spacing in millimetres (160) are given below. Thus, the H70-30 model has horizontal slats, with a width of 70 mm and a slat spacing of 30 mm. They are available in natural obeche wood, obeche wood with wood colour stain or obeche wood with RAL/NRC lacquer and can be surface treated with standard varnish or B-s1, d0 flame retardant varnish, or autoclave treated B-s1, d0 flame retardant treatment.     If you liked this post about decorative wood slats, you may also be interested in:   - Acoustic conditioning of homes and the hearing impaired - Performance of flame retardant wood panel cladding when exposed to fire - What are wood removable ceilings? - What are accessible wood ceilings?

What are sustainable wood acoustic panels?

By Acoustics, Architecture, Construction, Decoration

Sustainable wood acoustic panels are those that are manufactured with materials and processes that minimize their environmental impact and promote the conservation of natural resources throughout their life cycle.   Renewable materials They are manufactured using wood from sustainable sources, such as responsibly managed forests and certified by recognized organizations such as the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification). These same seals, applied to a product, such as the Spigoacustic and Spigotec brand wood acoustic panels, guarantee that it was manufactured from sustainably-sourced wood and that, in addition, a PEFC or FSC Chain of Custody System was maintained through to the end product.   It contributes to the reduction of a project’s carbon footprinT Wood has a negative carbon footprint, and there is no other building material that allows us to reduce the carbon footprint of a building more significantly. Wood outperforms other materials in CO2 emissions, effect on water quality and overall environmental impact when measured over the full life cycle of the material.   Indoor air quality Spigogroup has the A+ label which certifies that its wood cladding is free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can pollute indoor air.   Recyclability Wood is an ecological material, easily recyclable and with a low environmental impact over the entire life cycle of the building. In the case of Spigoline PET panels, an eco-friendly insulating panel with high thermal and acoustic performance is also used, made with 80% recycled polyester fibers, 100% recyclable and with a low carbon footprint.             If you liked this post about sustainable wood acoustic panels, you may also be interested in:   - Installation of solid wood slat cladding using the GRID system - Wood ceilings for wineries: tradition and modernity in the great temples of wine - Why is wood one of the best materials for decorating and constructing buildings? - Definition of acoustic conditioning and soundproofing, what is the difference?
