Ecological panels with SPIGOLINE PET slats: Solid slats or MDF slats?

By Acoustics, Architecture, Construction, Decoration, News No Comments

This year, Spigogroup has launched its ecological panels with slats (solid wood slats) Spigoline PET, made of ayous and with high thermal and acoustic performance. In these few months we have gained the recognition of acoustics and decoration professionals but, what makes these panels particularly beautiful and elegant? The new SPIGOLINE PET is an acoustic panel with a modern and timeless design that combines solid natural obeche wood slats arranged in parallel with an eco-friendly insulating panel with high thermal and acoustic performance, made of 80% recycled polyester fibres, 100% recyclable and with a low carbon footprint. The key to its success, compared to other options on the market, is precisely the use of solid ayous wood, instead of other options with significant aesthetic differences based on MDF or chipboard. Furthermore, from a technical point of view, using wood slats or solid ayous wood laths offers the important advantage that the finished product is much lighter, weighing less than half the weight of panels with MDF laths finished in melamine, veneered or lacquered. In terms of aesthetic appeal, using solid ayous wood stained in our client’s preferred shade or using MDF or chipboard is decisive for the final appearance of the wall or ceiling on which we want to intervene. Spigoline PET solid wood has the same appearance on all sides of the lath: on the front and also on the sides. This is not the case with MDF or chipboard strips that leave the sides with the chipboard or fibreboard base exposed to view. These pictures clearly show the difference. The solid wood slat panels of ayous wood provide us with: uniformity on all three visible sides: front and sides. uniformity is perceived from any point of view. the ensemble offers order, elegance and decorative harmony. the light behaviour and colour nuances are the same on all three visible surfaces. it can also be stained in different wood shades or RAL/NCS colours. it can also be flame retardant. they are very light and easy to install. In any case, should a project require it, SPIGOLINE PET also offers the possibility of making it with laths on an MDF base support. And if you have any doubts, let us advise you. 6 frequently asked questions about solid wood slat insulation panels

By Acoustics, Architecture, Construction, Decoration No Comments

A few months ago, Spigogroup launched its new solid wood slat insulation panels, the Spigogroup PET system. It was very well received and, since then, we have received many orders and also some enquiries. These are some of the most frequently asked questions:   1.- What is the Spigogroup PET system? The new SPIGOLINE PET is an acoustic panel with a modern and timeless design that combines solid natural obeche wood slats arranged in parallel with an eco-friendly insulating panel with high thermal and acoustic performance, made of 80% recycled polyester fibres, 100% recyclable and with a low carbon footprint.   2.- Is assembly complicated? It is very easy, quick and clean to assemble, as the low density obeche wood is very easy to handle and the PET felt can be easily cut with a normal saw, circular saw or jigsaw.   3. It is also flexible, isn’t it? Yes, the black felt is flexible, which allows the cladding to adapt easily to walls and curved areas, thus allowing it to participate in projects with more original and avant-garde designs.     4.- Where is this flexibility best leveraged? This characteristic makes the panel a perfect material for acoustic improvement in installations with a more striking and provocative visual appeal. It is therefore ideal in retail design where the aim is for points of sale to be attractive, functional and experiential. Also in the interior design of hotels, offices or corporate headquarters, where the aim is to transmit an avant-garde image of quality.   5.- And does it offer any other advantages? Yes, the Spigoline PET System cladding has the same appearance on all sides of the lath. This point may not seem important but it is key to understanding the final appearance of a ceiling or wall with this cladding. When you stand in front of it, you see the front face of the lath but, when you walk across the room, what you see are the sides. If the front face is finished but the sides are unfinished and only show the chipboard or wood fibre base when cut, it looks odd and fails to meet the decorative expectations of the cladding. With the Spigoline PET System this does not happen. The appearance of the solid wood is uniform on all three visible faces (front and sides) from any position, providing the desired decorative harmony.   6.- How many different models of PET system panels are there right now? The PET System comes with 4 different models (6-70-15-30, 10-30-35-30, 12-35-15-15 y 12-35-30-15) and, together with the 36 GRID system models, 12 ACOUSTIC system models and 22 LINEAR system models, they complete the extensive catalogue of Spigoline’s wide range of interior cladding solid wood slats.   If you liked this post about solid wood slat insulation panels, you may also be interested in:   - What do wood slats contribute to the decoration of foyers? - Flexible wood slat cladding: so acoustics does not limit creativity - Spigogroup launches new wood slat cladding with PET felt insulation - How to install solid wood slats on walls

Wood slat acoustic panels for increased acoustic comfort

By Acoustics, Architecture, Construction, Decoration No Comments

Wood slat acoustic panels serve the dual function of serving as a decorative element and also provide greater acoustic comfort. Acoustic absorption is defined as the ability of a material to decrease the amount of reflected sound energy in a space. When sound waves interact with a solid surface, they bounce off, producing echoes and reverberation. This can lead to poor sound quality and affect acoustics. The basic performance of an acoustic panel is based on the sound absorption capacity of its materials. When, in addition, you add wood slats or laths, you add their sound diffusion capability. The combination of sound absorption and diffusion makes these panels a perfect solution for improving acoustics in a wide variety of environments. Spigogroup has two types of wood slat acoustic panels:   Acoustic system: It is made up of superior acoustic panel with ovoid or circular holes and solid wood slats (square or rectangular section) positioned parallel to each other and perpendicular to this support. This is the ideal solution for acoustic conditioning and reverberation control.   PET System: consists of solid natural obeche wood slats arranged in parallel with an eco-friendly insulating panel with high thermal and acoustic performance, made of 80% recycled polyester fibres, 100% recyclable and with a low carbon footprint. The perfect choice when, in addition to acoustically conditioning, you also need insulation capability.   If you have any questions, please contact Spigogroup’s technical department: comercial@spigogroup.com           If you liked this post about wood slat acoustic panels, you may also be interested in:   - Acoustic panels for exhibition halls, museums and galleries - How wood panels help to achieve VERDE certification - Flexible wood slat cladding: so acoustics does not limit creativity - 3 examples of interior wood clad3 examples of interior wood cladding for health centres or hospitalsding for health centres or hospitals
