3 Examples of solid wood slats in winery decoration

By Acoustics, Architecture, Construction, Decoration, News, Spigogroup wood projects No Comments

The great temples of wine have made a firm commitment to the decoration of their great halls and solid wood slats are always involved, to a greater or lesser extent, in refurbishing projects. The first thing that comes to mind when we think of a winery is the perfect alignment of wood barrels in a large room. The use of aligned wood slats reproduces this scene on ceilings and walls, extending the perception of symmetrical order and warmth with solid wood slat cladding. Here are 3 examples:     Zinio Bodegas Patrocinio This is a wood decoration project in which we had the pleasure of participating in 2019 at Zinio Bodegas / Bodegas Patrocinio, the Uruñuela wine cooperative, in the heart of the Rioja wine region. The cladding chosen for ceilings and walls are Spigoline model 5-15-70-55 wood slats.         Bodegas Marqués de Vargas The majestic dimensions of the malolactic hall of Bodegas Marqués de Vargas required Spigoline wood slats of special dimensions. Finally, we manufactured and installed 2,000 linear metres of special treated and varnished wood slats, 40 mm thick, 300 mm wide and in varied lengths, which were placed on horizontal and vertical surfaces to achieve the final result that can be seen in the following photos. Many of the slats were also machined to include LEDs. Another aspect to highlight in this wood slats for wineries project carried out at Marqués de Vargas is that they were manufactured according to TCA contamination prevention protocols, which required prior certification studies of the materials used. .           Bodegas Portia These wineries in Ribera del Duero are the work of the renowned architect, Norman Foster and his architecture and interior design team, Foster + Partners. We were in charge of the manufacture of different works in solid oak wood for different points in the three floors of the 12,500 m² premises. Among them, is the installation of beautiful solid oak wood slat cladding on the ceilings of common areas, dining rooms and meeting rooms.         If you liked this post about wood slats in winery decoration, you may also be interested in:   – Acoustic ceilings with wood slats: the case of Cajasiete Tenerife – Sizes for solid wood slats used in ceiling and wall cladding – Decorative false ceiling with wood slats: 3 options and installation methods – Acoustic wood slats: sizes and models

Example of a project for the renovation and refurbishment of an entrance foyer in Logroño (La Rioja, Spain)

By Architecture, Construction, Decoration, News, Spigogroup wood projects, Uncategorized No Comments

This week we bring to our blog an example of a project for the renovation and refurbishment of an entrance foyer of a block of flats in Logroño, La Rioja. Spanish cities are growing by expanding their urban boundaries and also by improving the quality and image of old and iconic buildings. The capital of La Rioja has not lagged behind and, in recent years, it has accumulated a large number of renovation projects of foyers, stairways and façades that are updating the face of many of the buildings in the oldest areas of the city. This is the case of Bretón de los Herreros, a street that is at the core of Logroño’s social and cultural life, located between the famous Calle Laurel and Espolón square. It is also the home of its eponymous theatre and some of the busiest terraces and cafés in the city. The Rioja-based architect’s studio, Arquitect , took care of the refurbishment and renovation work of its entrance foyer and commissioned us to carry out the wood interior cladding. The aim was to achieve a welcoming, elegant, modern atmosphere, and the studio opted for Spigoline solid wood slats, made to measure, in combination with mirrors, marble and integrated LED lighting. The 3500×120 cm slats are made of solid iroko wood with natural wood effect varnish. Smooth wood cladding was chosen for utility covers and the entrance door was also made of iroko wood. The result is spectacular and the building now has a modern, welcoming, distinguished and very comfortable entrance.               If you liked this post about refurbishment of an entrance foyer, you may also be interested in:   – Bespoke doors for Gonzalo Sánchez Casa Notarías offices – Sizes for solid wood slats used in ceiling and wall cladding – 4 Decorating trends for 2022 – Entrance lobby renovation: how to improve aspect and acoustics in one step

3 benefits of using wood wall cladding in a room

By Acoustics, Architecture, Construction, Decoration No Comments

Wood wall cladding has one main purpose: aesthetics, but, at the same time, it can fulfil other functions that multiply its value as a building and decorative solution. One of the added benefits of installing wall cladding is the protection it provides for the wall on which it is installed. In common office areas where it is common for people to circulate, sometimes with packages and goods, wall cladding solutions helps to protect and preserve the original wall. The use of wall cladding saves on maintenance, as minimal cleaning can make it look as good as new, thereby doing away with the need to replace wallpaper or repaint the wall every year. Furthermore, the added layer it provides to the wall also means extra insulation. Of course, wood wall cladding does not replace good insulation, but rather complements it by adding a new layer of separation between rooms. Another great benefit of the installation of wood wall cladding is the possibility of using acoustic panels that help the acoustic conditioning of the room. The use of sound-absorbent wood acoustic tiles, such as those offered in the Spigotec or Spigoacustic catalogues, can guarantee the necessary acoustic comfort in a classroom, office or practice. These micro-perforated wood panels are also available in a wide range of finishes in natural wood, melamine, lacquer, HPL or through-dyed MDF, offering the perfect solution for improving both the aesthetics and acoustics of a space.       If you liked this post about wood wall cladding, you may also be interested in:   – How to distinguish good wood acoustic panels? – Acoustics and decoration in white: white acoustic panels and much more – 9 decorative wood panel models you will fall in love with – Wood cladding for railway stations and airports

Bespoke doors for Gonzalo Sánchez Casa Notarías offices

By Decoration, News, Spigogroup wood projects No Comments

Today we bring you a project of bespoke doors and other wood fittings for the renovation of Notarías Gonzalo Sánchez Casa, in Logroño. Last year, the engineering and architecture firm Aitec Proyectos gave us the opportunity to partner with them in the refurbishment of the offices of this well-known notary public’s office in La Rioja. The project sought to optimize the use of natural light in the facilities and its design sought to maintain the elegance, serenity and sobriety of the office, but with a modern look. To achieve the latter, varnished walnut was chosen, a noble and elegant material that conveys a sense of seriousness and the conservative image of a notary’s office, all within a fresh and modern design. Often, in order to successfully carry out decoration and interior design projects with personality, it is necessary to custom design some elements and, on this occasion, it was necessary to do so. We design and manufacture custom Spigodoor flush doors and panelling for access to rooms and offices, as well as matching cabinets and panelling in offices. We also installed Spigotec brand smooth wood interior cladding. Being manufacturers, we were able to adapt the doors to the needs of the project, to undertake other challenges such as the design, manufacture and installation of a reception desk made with custom-made wood slats and a spectacular table for the boardroom, a unique piece for meetings and signing sessions designed with a tapered design.
