Instructions for the assembly and installation of wall covering consisting of wood slats and PET insulation

By Acoustics, Acústica, Architecture, Arquitectura, Construcción, Construction, Decoración, Decoration

We receive many inquiries about instructions for the assembly and installation of Spigoline PET System wall covering with wood slats and, in this post, we will try to clear up all the doubts. The PET System is an acoustic panel with a modern, timeless design that combines solid natural ayous wood slats arranged in parallel with an eco-friendly insulating panel with high thermal and acoustic performance, made of 80% recycled polyester fibres, 100% recyclable and with a low carbon footprint. First of all, you need to know the kind kind of sound absorption that your project requires. The EN ISO 11654 international standard has five absorption classes, A, B, C, D and E. Sound absorption class A has the highest degree of absorption. The PET System allows you to achieve type A, C and D absorption, depending on the way you choose to install it and whether you use mineral wool. Class D sound absorption Spigoline PET panels are fixed directly to the wall with screws (we recommend black) with a length of at least 35 mm in the felt area or with glue or contact adhesive.     Class C sound absorption First you need to install 45×45 mm wood battens. We recommend a spacing of 300-400 mm between them. The Spigoline PET panels are then fastened directly with screws at least 35 mm long.     Class A sound absorption To achieve greater sound absorption, you can add mineral wool in the gaps between the battens which form a substructure of 45×45 mm every 300-400 mm.       If you liked this post about assembly and installation of wall covering, you may also be interested in:   – 9 decorative wood wall panels that will add value to your decorative Project – The aesthetic and optical effect of parallel wood slats – The use of decorative wood panels in Nordic or Scandinavian decoration – How to carry out wood acoustic panel maintenance

6 reasons to install PET decorative wood slats

By Acoustics, Acústica, Architecture, Arquitectura, Construcción, Construction, Decoración, Decoración, Decoration

A year ago, Spigoline, the Spigogroup solid wood slat cladding brand, launched a line of PET decorative wood slats. Since then, we have been continuously receiving orders and inquiries. Our architect and decorator clients highlight, above all, these six reasons to install this new wood slat cladding in their projects:   1.- Solid wood: Our PET decorative wood slats are made of solid Ayous wood. This means that, as it is solid wood and not post-finished chipboard or wood fibre panels, Spigoline PET System cladding has the same appearance on all sides of the slat. 2.- Lightweight: By opting for Ayous wood, you considerably reduce the weight of each panel and, therefore, the total cladding to be installed on walls and/or ceilings.     3.- Easy installation:  They are quick and easy to install, cleanly and easily, and do not require special materials or tools. In addition, Ayous wood is low density, which makes them very easy to manipulate during assembly. 4.- Eco-friendly black felt: the back felt used in the panels PET decorative wood slats is made with 80% recycled polyester fibres, is 100% recyclable, boasts a very low carbon footprint and offers B-s1, d0 fire rating. In addition to black, you can choose other colours upon request.     5.- Insulation and conditioning: It combines thermal insulation and acoustic conditioning in the same product. 6.- Easy maintenance:  it is very easy to clean. Dust can be removed with a simple duster and, for light stains, it is sufficient to apply a little sparkling water and carefully rub the surface.       If you liked this post about PET decorative wood slats, you may also be interested in:   – 21 Articles on acoustic conditioning and insulation with wood – Ecological panels with SPIGOLINE PET slats: Solid slats or MDF slats? – Restaurant décor: the 3 mistakes you can’t make in 2024 – The importance of acoustics in coliving or cohousing

The need for acoustic conditioning in tourist offices

By Acoustics, Acústica, Architecture, Arquitectura, Construcción, Construction, Decoración, Decoration

This summer, many of us have experienced the need for acoustic conditioning in tourist offices of many Spanish towns. Perhaps without knowing very well what was happening, we have been waiting for the tourism technician with a particular sense of discomfort. This discomfort, beyond the summer heat, was related to the lack of acoustic comfort. It happens that, often, the design of tourist offices has forgotten an essential factor for the correct attention of visitors: acoustics. These spaces are often located in busy, noisy areas, where the accumulation of sounds can be overwhelming. Additionally, modern offices often feature large, hard surfaces, such as glass and marble, that reflect sound rather than absorb it, intensifying acoustic reverberation. This phenomenon not only creates a noisy environment, but also makes speech understanding difficult, which can frustrate both tourists seeking information and employees trying to provide it. The solution lies in the installation of wood acoustic panels. These decorative wood panels are specifically designed to absorb sound, thereby reducing reverberation and improving the acoustic quality of the space. Wood, a natural and sustainable material, offers a dual benefit: in addition to its acoustic properties, it brings warmth and an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere to the environment. Installing these panels can transform a noisy and stressful office into a calm and welcoming space. Furthermore, wood is a versatile material that can adapt to different styles, allowing it to be seamlessly integrated into any tourist office.     .
