Phenolic tops to complement phenolic urinary partitions and phenolic cabins

By Construction, Decoration, News No Comments
We have already mentioned on other occasions today’s widespread use of phenolic lockers and phenolic cabins in toilets and changing rooms in buildings of all kinds, particularly those for public use. A picture of any change room shows phenolic lockers for storing clothing and sports bags, phenolic cabins for showers, toilets and changing, phenolic benches with coat racks and phenolic urinary partitions for urinals. But the use of phenolic boards in toilets and changing rooms goes further: washbasins. One of the most interesting properties of phenolic panel is its resistance to moisture so, what better place to use it than in the area surrounding washbasins? What better target for phenolic tops than washbasins? Phenolic tops suffer constant water splashes from the taps in washbasins in any bathroom. This continuous exposure to liquid and humidity also produces dirt and corrosion, but the performance of phenolic tops is optimal in these circumstances because of the phenolic panel used to make them, which is antibacterial, non-corrosive and has a non-porous surface that repels moisture and is very easy to maintain. Therefore, phenolic tops, together with phenolic partitions and phenolic cabins , are the Spigocompac products which are most in demand. Among other reasons because, just as lockers or phenolic benches are used in changing rooms and sports buildings, sets comprising phenolic cabins , phenolic tops and phenolic urinary partitions are much more widespread and used in toilet areas in most buildings open to the public (offices, airports, shopping centres, schools, hospitals, universities, restaurants, institutional buildings, residences, sports centres, etc.).   If you liked this post, you may also be interested in: - Urinary partitions: everything you always wanted to know about them and were afraid to ask - Spigocompac Phenolic Booths - Types and Technical Specifications - Phenolic benches for locker rooms. Anti-finger trapping doors for kindergartens. How do they work?

By Construction, Decoration, News No Comments
When you become a parent you enter a new world of until then non-existent or, at least, forgotten fears. Being responsible for the care of such an innocent, naive and untrained creature as a toddler lights up alarms where peace used to reign. As adults, we do not live in fear of getting our fingers caught in a door, but when you see your child play with a door, you unconsciously jump at the imminent danger that they may get their small fingers caught. To avoid these accidents there are anti-finger trapping doors for kindergartens. They can be often seen in nurseries, kindergartens, toy libraries, schools and early childhood education centres intended for the little ones. But how do anti-finger trapping doors for kindergartens work? Very simply: anti-finger trapping doors for kindergartens are completely normal doors but with one small difference: from the ground up to an approximate height of 110 cm, they have anti-finger trapping rubber strips on each side; the latch side and the hinge side. The anti-trapping system replaces the part of the doors where fingers get caught with rubber profiles which become deformed when a hand is trapped, thereby avoiding the pressure from the world. At Spigodoor, the Spigogroup division which manufactures technical doors, we make doors with anti-finger trapping systems, finished in natural wood, MD, Formica, or lacquer, suitable for kindergartens and all other kinds of children's schools.     How Spigodoor Anti-finger trapping doors for kindergartens work   If you liked this post, you may also be interested in: - Technical doors – What dimensions should I take to place an order? - FR - 30 and FR - 60 fire doors, by Spigodoor Technical Doors - How to choose wood technical doors for your Project - Fire doors and FR doors, what are these technical doors for?

7 Image ideas for your paintings or decorative acoustic panels

By Acoustics, Decoration, News No Comments
Decorative acoustic panels are wood panels made of sound-absorbent wood which we use for acoustic conditioning in rooms and which we can also etch so that they become an active element in decorating a room. They are the quickest and easiest way of controlling that reverberation which can be so harmful to a room’s acoustics. Decorative acoustic panels are quick and easy to make, and they are as easy to install as a shelf. Depending on the building (corporate headquarters, hotel, school, Winery, etc.) and the room where we have to intervene (waiting room, office, dining room, reception, meeting room, shop premises, etc.) we can use different images for decorative acoustic panels. These are some of the options that we have worked on at Spigoart, the Spigogroup division which manufactures pictures and decorative acoustic panels: . 1.- Photos of the company’s or institution’s products or buildings. Many companies have professional, high-quality photographs of their products and buildings found in their catalogues which can be used in producing decorative acoustic panels for company offices and meeting rooms. 2.- A landscape or still life: a very good option in, for example, wineries who want to showcase their vineyards and grape clusters. 3.- Portraits of the company’s or institution’s presidents, officers or other important people. 4.- Reproductions of posters or films 5.- Reproductions of paintings by famous painters 6.- Leaving only one colour using one of the finishes in melamine, natural wood or lacquer that we offer at Spigoart. 7.- Any hand-painted work carried out by an artist artist.     If you liked this post, you may also be interested in: - Acoustic conditioning with sound-absorbent wood panels that are hung like paintings - 5 examples of acoustic conditioning with sound-absorbent wood panels that are hung like paintings - A success story: How we improved the acoustic conditioning of a restaurant with three pictures made with acoustic panels - Acoustic pictures - definition and uses

Unique wood projects: European Quality Leather Centre in Igualada

By Decoration, Inspiration, Spigogroup wood projects No Comments
In Spigogroup’s more than 30 years’ experience in the world of architecture, construction, decoration and acoustic conditioning we have participated in the most diverse wood projects. Our work has taken us half-way across the world and allowed us to make our small contribution to projects of immense size and budgets and other smaller projects still requiring the highest quality in materials and design. In 2015 we had the opportunity to participate in some of the most special wood projects undertaken in recent years. And it was near our home, in the city of Igualada, in the province of Barcelona. As experts in the manufacture of wood components for building projects, such as panels, cladding, or solid wood slats, were asked to participate in the construction work of the European Quality Leather Centre in Igualada. The project is the work of taller 9s arquitectes. It involved the restoration of two tanneries located in the Rec industrial district in Igualada. It is part of a wider strategic plan to valorise the neighbourhood’s heritage and also aims to complement the offer of the nearby Igualada Leather Museum. Special wood panelling, beams and other special orders gave us the opportunity to work very closely with our favourite material, wood. This is an example of wood projects which we like.
